Erickson founded FORGE (Facilitating Opportunities for Refugee Growth and Empowerment) in 2003 when she was a 20 year-old junior studying public policy at Stanford University. The projects can range from preschools, to libraries and computer training centers, to women empowerment programs. They can create the change makers.

Dining for Women is a seven-year-old organization that facilitates a network of 130 giving circles across the country. The essence of Dining for Women is connection, education, and self-empowerment. We had a group that went to Kenya to visit BOMA Fund , and we went to Uganda to visit the BeadforLife program. It was wonderful.

So, last spring Ella Baker Center, to launch its new program Reclaim the Future, took a big role in the United Nations World Environment Day Conference that was happening here in San Francisco. So we're bringing a lot of elements together, the innerpersonal the activist. We never saw it in action before we started doing it.
