The artifacts are reaccessioned, the labels (hopefully) recycled, but what happens to the knowledge? That may be fine for people who want the exercise of reinventing the wheel, but it's a disaster if our goal is to grow and improve what we offer to visitors. What happens to an exhibit when it closes? We need an archive for exhibitions.
