New Models for Community Partnerships: Museums Hosting Meetups

On 8.8.08, the Ontario Science Center (Toronto, Canada) hosted the 888 YouTube meetup for any and all YouTube aficionados. On 8.16.08, the Museum of Art and History (Santa Cruz, CA) hosted FreelanceCamp, a free unconference that brought 150 designers and techies from the south bay area together to talk shop. The 2010 NTC by the Numbers

Day 1 of the conference saw 122 attendees volunteer to help 58 organizations during the Day of Service , while 50 of you attended the Open Data Unconference and 139 went to We Are Media Sessions. This year we had 61 international attendees; admittedly, 30 of those were from Canada, but the rest spanned the globe.
