For me, that meant photography, which I have done since I was eight, and traveling, which I love. It is very different to interview sex workers who have been trafficked in Phnom Penh, than to interview women who are doing knitting in Bolivia. I thought, I have friends in academia who are taking sabbaticals, why can't I?
