Erickson founded FORGE (Facilitating Opportunities for Refugee Growth and Empowerment) in 2003 when she was a 20 year-old junior studying public policy at Stanford University. The projects can range from preschools, to libraries and computer training centers, to women empowerment programs. He ran into Congo. It had been bombed.

A lot of attention on team, it's probably the hardest thing because you have to keep getting out of your own way. We publish their stories, and from that experience, a big impact was that a lot of the women got their stories picked up. The most powerful impact we found was actually in the women's leadership and influence locally.

How do you know that you are making a difference or an impact; how do you measure that? For them, that was a measure of change and a measure of impact. BB: How do you know that you are successful?
