I was able to participate thanks in part to professional development grants from Arizona Commission on the Arts and Sigma Alpha Iota. It was wonderful to again be immersed in French culture and language. In Europe, the government has traditionally been the primary supporter of culture, a model very different to ours in the US.

The Public Allies Arizona training program might have been equally as beneficial as my coursework in helping me accomplish my objectives at MIKID while working on my personal and professional growth. I have come to believe that culture is a language that you speak with your actions. Wayne was also a part of Public Allies' Class 12.
