After she co-founded the Foundation For Friends of Nature in Bolivia, a million acres of natural habitat were put in to public trust. She has also just published a book of poetry, “ On The Advice of Rumi.”

What advice do you have for people to navigate those growing pains? I actually started out with International Studies, and more academic. I realize now that it wasn't an accident, this life journey. Because there's the start-up part where everyone is like, "I'll do it pro bono. Or, you have to grow to a demand.

And, at a time when the international women's movement is facing challenges, it would be great to have a reminder that good news is going on, that good work is being done, that progress is happening. What I wanted to learn next, because I had lived my working life inside of large corporations, was about woman entrepreneurs.
