The winner of this year's award is Charles Brennick, the founder and executive director of the nonprofit refurbisher InterConnection. Charles got interested in this type of charitable work while he served in the Peace Corps in Paraguay in the early 1990s. He subsequently worked as an ecotourism developer in Costa Rica.
