Though it should have been rush hour, there was no traffic, no helicopters reporting on stalled cars or construction. It wasn’t yet my turn to drive, and I’d have been broadcasting observations all morning, with nothing better to contribute. We were surprised when we reached a roadblock just West of El Paso.
