Back then, he took comfort when he saw a small charge at a RadioShack in Phoenix, and rightly guessed we’d stopped to pick up cell-phone chargers. Without mobile email or a service like Twitter, I had no idea if, unknown to us, coworkers sat stranded at the Phoenix airport. I do remember good things in the days following 9/11.
