Ultramarathons are extreme running events: 250-kilometer (155-mile) foot races over five or six days in the harshest environments on Earth. David Barnard has completed six of these grueling races: The Kalahari Desert in Botswana and South Africa (its name is derived from a Tswana word meaning "the great thirst").

He did his degree in NGO Management, and will be graduating this coming June. The first opportunity that I had to go back was to work in a refugee camp in Botswana. I think that that is one of the things that, especially my generation, is seeing more and more around them. Completely random.
