Historically, federal and state laws have viewed nonprofit and for-profit entities as mutually exclusive organizations whose work rarely, if ever, overlapped. The two most common are the benefit corporation (B Corp) and the low-profit–limited-liability company (L3C). The organization became the first Benefit “B” Corporation in Florida.
