We have long known that civic engagement strengthens democratic systems. The partner paper defines civic health as “the measure of the civic attitudes, actions, and behaviors of a group of individuals” (p.3). These states are Alaska, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Kansas, Minnesota, and Vermont.
