What do web stats mean, anyway?

The question I want to ask is, what do web stats really mean, anyway? I don’t think we want homeless shelters, food pantries, mental health organizations, etc., I think that metrics to answer specific questions related to outcomes or improvement are useful. The question is – what example are you setting?
