Yahoo Javascript Libraries go OpenSource

I can't help wonder if this mounting bad PR played a role in Yahoo's announcement this week to release their Javascript user-interface library and a library of web application design patterns under an Open Source license. In addition, calendar and treeview components are provided. It's certainly big news.
