At the end of the year, upon their graduation, the goal becomes, how can we help them get a job? Our country director in Bosnia was a survivor of the four-year siege of Sarajevo.

Women for Women International supports women survivors of war in conflict and post-conflict areas (Afghanistan, Bosnia, Herzegovina, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iraq, Kosovo, Nigeria, Rwanda, and Sudan). Each woman is paired with a sponsor whose donation helps to cover some of their basic necessities (food, water, medicine).

They learned about reproductive health issues, such as their anatomy, HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases, pregnancy and child birth. They enrolled in special job skills classes designed to meet the market needs of their community. In small groups, the women learned basic business and marketing skills.
