World Central Kitchen was founded by chef and activist José Andres in the aftermath of the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. After the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, our founder José felt compelled by the news and flew down. This means tailoring our content to both the head and the heart. At the same time, each meal has a story.
