From there, I ended up going to the Burma-Thai border and working with women refugees who had fled the ethnic cleansing under the Burmese dictatorship. The most powerful impact we found was actually in the women's leadership and influence locally. We brought professional empowerment mentors and coaches, and also professional editors.
