TechSoup Global's vice president for Africa David Barnard did. The Sahel Desert in Burkina Faso (a desert that is both hot and humid). He runs these ultramarathons to raise money and generate awareness for charitable causes. His first race was dedicated to raising money for the Southern African NGO Network (SANGONeT).
