David Barnard has completed six of these grueling races: The Kalahari Desert in Botswana and South Africa (its name is derived from a Tswana word meaning "the great thirst"). His first race was dedicated to raising money for the Southern African NGO Network (SANGONeT). The Sahara Desert in Egypt (the hottest desert on earth).

What we do is essentially support social entrepreneurship within refugee communities. He did his degree in NGO Management, and will be graduating this coming June. The first opportunity that I had to go back was to work in a refugee camp in Botswana. So, now people can go on the site and support projects.
