TechSoup holds regular meetings for nonprofits in Second Life and I have been attending regularly and sometimes facilitate like this I did this past week. But there is also a trust issue too -- particularly if you don't know all the avatars in real life. I posted a question on the educator listserv and there doesn't seem to be one.
