Recently, my social media feeds have been anxiety producing, if not downright depressing. Blogger Vu Lee, who wrote the forward to The Happy Healthy Nonprofit , offers up 9 tips for self-care , including downloading a chrome plugin that replaces 45 with photos of kittens. And, of course, tons of photos of kittens and cats.

With a few keystrokes, any well-connected mommy blogger can mobilize an army of other advocates to support or take down a brand, a cause or public figure.

It recommends links and photos while you write. I also didn't like the photos it recommended (and in fact one it suggested was all rights reserved). I might instead read through some blog feeds or find interesting links from people I follow on FriendFeed or Twitter and then bookmark posts on topics (within my "beat").
