My favorite example is in the pharma area. I had multiple chances to plug my ideas around a more open approach in Davos, and found a sympathetic hearing, given some exciting activity in the same area. Nike launched the GreenXchange , and the Young Global Leaders had a humanitarian patent licensing concept that seemed promising. My main talk was at a session on commercialization
 

The Best from the Nonprofit Technology Community

Twitter search is a pretty amazing resource that most have yet to tap into. Why do I think it’s amazing you ask? Well, because it’s nearly real time and driven completely by humans. Twitter search isn’t searching web pages and it doesn’t take days/weeks for your tweets to show up in the results.
This evening, Joe Solomon pointed out a great example that touches on data, social media, 3rd party platforms, and being proactive with getting your supporters connected directly with your organization – all things we’ve touched on in the conversations about Causes and ideablob!  That example? Recently, I’ve been thinking a lot about the issues highlighted by Causes leaving MySpace and ideablob suddenly shutting down.  One of the biggest issues that has come out of the blog posts and the conversations in the comments is the idea of data.
