It sounds “old-school” but I love to go to my local library every Saturday to wander up and down the stacks. Words are another passion of mine. For me there is nothing like the thrill of curling up in bed with a book or polishing off a (hopefully good) blog post. Another big treat is for me is Amazon Overnight Delivery.

I asked a few colleagues on Blogher and beyond and discovered a few excellent blogs and video blogs that offer advice and recipes for parents who want to make sure their kids are eating a healthy meal. The young people work on farms to harvest foods, donating half to local shelters. Applications are being accepted until November 9th!

My fellow BlogHer co-editor, Beth Kanter , has launched a fundraising campaign using ChipIn. Between now and December 31st, Beth is working to raise $750 for the Sharing Foundation , an NGO that works with local officials, orphanages, and NGOs in Cambodia to improve children's lives.

We need to re-localize food production so we aren't dependent on oil for food to get from farm to table. Fight for water.
