I’ve always liked wikis, and I have used MediaWiki a lot in the past, and I do like it. Dokuwiki is different in a number of ways, most primarily in that it is one of the wiki systems that stores things in files, not databases. But I’m converting my tech wiki to from MediaWiki to DokuWiki. Be Helpful.

They just introduced a project wiki, but again, they’ve rolled their own and it’s useless. Contrast that with Google Code’s sweet Subversion-integrated wiki. Be Helpful. The problem with Google Code is that it’s *explicitly* for small projects. Depending on the project, those can be really useful.

Marty Kearns has set up a collaborative paper and discussion on a wiki. It will be the only growing market in 2009. You need social capital to help in difficult times. You can updates through RSS. You have to pay to use their corporate wiki software “Confluence&# , but they bundle the source code with the licence so you can customise (and improve) the software yourself. Thank you for helping me articulate it. How is someone supposed to help troubleshoot a problem that the user has, because they modified the software?
