To add more fuel to the fire, the Direct Marketing Association says that due to rising consumer hostility toward Direct Mail, laws have been proposed in 15+ states to create “Do Not Mail” registries. Each year we receive over 3,500 proposals from women's organizations all around the world. I think my comment in The Nation was really more about that. This year, 2008, is the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. I think the biggest challenge for us is trying to make hard decisions.
