The contest was a great delight with small nonprofits like Little Lights Urban Ministries, For Love of Children and the Kristin Brook Hope Center performing well beyond expectations and winning awards. Many have heard by now about the cinderella winner of the contest, Little Lights Urban Ministries.

One way to get people to create content for you is through contests. A common form of contest among companies is the “create a commercial&# contest. Among organizations, contests may seem like a short-cut to get compelling content, and cheaply. The current Heinz contest is a great example.

Triple your vote: Get staff involved in contacting people in their networks. There may be news stories about legal battles contesting ballots. Add a link to your state’s voter portal to your organization’s intranet for employees. Just make sure to stay 100 feet from the entrance and avoid any partisan activity.
