I use an RSS reader to aggregate articles to read, a bookmarking tool (pinboard) to save links of interest, and conversational tools (Twitter and Facebook) to share. In contrast, many of the people I work with use visual social media formats as their lead tools for creating, sharing, and consuming information.

Our aggregation page allows people to see what we???ve t make it so narrow and obscure that only one or two people are interested in the topic. Seek out those people first.

Marshall Kirkpatrick , who was working with Netsquared , whipped up the NpTech Metafeed which allowed folks to aggregate items tagged by nonprofit techies from many distributed sources.

It looked a little more comprehensive then just asking people to tag and then trying to aggregate (we also looked at other tools like CrowdVine which was very comparable, almost a coin flip). Our conference planner told me earlier this year about Pathable a company that provides a social network site for your conference. Gone Green(er).
