There are many artistic projects that offer a template for participation, whether a printed play, an orchestral score, or a visual artwork that involves an instructional set (from community murals to Sol LeWitt). In 2012, we tried creating an intercultural community advisory board called C3 (Creative Community Committee). I struggle with both these options.

We've actually been experimenting quite a lot with this here at the MAH with a simple project called the Five Friday card. At the end of October, we started handing visitors business cards with all the Fridays through the end of 2012 listed on it. At their worst, it's just about getting the stamp and not about having the experience.
