Once you or your organization views the world with a networked mindset, then you need to visualize the network. The discipline of noticing your own practice in adopting a network mindset is important. This has been the most important lesson for me in shifting the way I work to a more networked approach.

Organizations are hearing: “You need to be on social media.” Organizations need to stop trying to replicate other social media strategies and develop one that works for their specific needs and opportunities.

Many social media strategists and the media told nonprofits and businesses that email was dying and that FREE social networks like Facebook would be king of communications.
