It watches for emerging trends on the site and when something is becoming a hot topic of conversation - Evri uses that as a trigger to prompt a query to other sources for information on the topic. There would be no reason for Google to poll websites for changes over and over again. Twitter as Trigger. That's a huge win for efficiency.
