One of the metrics that bloggers track is "Authority" or the number of blogs linking to a blog within the last six months. Most bloggers use the Technorati index to benchmark authority ranking. The last six months, my Technorati rank has been the same, I have not moved the needle. and a must-read. Twinfluence.

There are a lot of answers to that question, but if you want to do outreach to bloggers about an issue you care about, here are a few tips: 1. Search for bloggers who write about topics related to your cause on Technorati , Google Blog Search and Ask.com's blog search engine. Most bloggers aren't paid to blog.

Between the internet strategy teleseminar for the San Francisco Writing Conference I did on Monday, the blogging presentation I did for the Oakland branch of Ladies Who Launch on Tuesday, and the consults I had with individual bloggers on Wednesday and Thursday, I've been asked several times this week: "How do I increase my blog traffic?"

Provide a link to a page with bios for bloggers. If your blogging platform doesn't allow you to do that, have bloggers include a one-line bio at the end of their posts. Link to other bloggers Use Google Blog Search , Alltop and Technorati to find blogs that write about similar topics to yours. Respond to comments.
