While it’s difficult to see how Hurricane Ian has affected the lives of so many people, and we don’t yet know the full aftermath of the storm, there are plenty of ways you can lend a hand to those in need.

With Hurricane threatening a direct hit and potential devastating damage, emergency officials called for a mandatory evacuation — something that hasn’t happened in many years.

I’m now a fan of Reed Stockman’s AFP technology blog. What I’d expect from an online blog from such an established institution is a weighty selection of content from equally businesslike sources. Reed says that communicating across diverse media is now a culture-wide attribute of the organization.

What about Hurricane Sandy? Are people going to give less because they donated to Hurricane Sandy relief? Most giving in response to Hurricane Sandy has been to a small number of nonprofits focused on the relief efforts.
