Using Red Hat, as I often do sometimes, feels like doing battle in comparison. Ubuntu seems to be becoming the linux distro of choice for a lot of people, and so far, it’s my favorite. Ubuntu took the best that Debian had to offer, and left the weaknesses behind, I think. Anyway, I think it’s worth checking out.

Yes, there are licensing fees, but they pale in comparison to what it would cost if we had to rely on an open source product and maintain it ourselves. It’s my understanding that none of the major non-profit SaaS players use open source tools. For example, we (DonorPerfect Online), use Microsoft SQL Server 2005 for the database engine.
