I just got back from a short jaunt to the University of Washington in Seattle. Not only is it the school my son Andy attends (beam, beam), but it is also a hotbed of activity around advancing people with disabilities.

The second challenge we encountered took place in Washington D.C. Usually when I'm in Washington, I get to work with people who share an interest in making the world better, no matter where they work or for whom. But, occasionally I'm reminded that the other Washington exists. I sure hope so.
