With catastrophic flooding and winds of up to 150 mph, Hurricane Ian has had a devastating impact on many areas of Florida and Cuba. While it’s difficult to see how Hurricane Ian has affected the lives of so many people, and we don’t yet know the full aftermath of the storm, there are plenty of ways you can lend a hand to those in need.

Late at night on Sunday August 29th, Hurricane Ida made landfall as a Category 4 hurricane near Port Fourchon, Louisiana. The two companies we worked with were A Family Storage, which is a self-storage company, and Cool Box Portable Storage, which is a mobile storage company similar to PODS. Any donations that were dropped off at A Family Storage would then be moved in a Cool Box container up to Hurricane Sandy relief centers.

Yahoo set up 100 Internet-linked computers at the Astrodome and developed a meta-search of evacuee registration websites. Reports of violence and of peace efforts could be placed via the web or mobile phone.
