Hard Data Points: Look at the Feed Subscribers trends from Feedburner and Unique Visitors Trends from Google Analytics.

If you are not using an RSS Reader, pick one and learn how to use it like a rock star. Make sure you establish good RSS habits. Add a RSS feed to your reader.

Enable subscription to your rss feed with Feedburner. Provide a way for people to easily share and bookmark your posts by using something like AddThis or Add to Any. Bookmark your posts in del.icio.us, and other social bookmarking services. Install web analytics tools like SiteMeter , StatCounter and Google Analytics.

Add a stat counter to your blog like sitemeter , StatCounter or Google Analytics so you can see when someone links to your blog. Do both searches. Put blogs about your topic in your blogroll.

I use a variety of tools for this analysis, including Google Analytics, Feedburner subscriber counts, and manually tracking comment to post ratios (typepad doesn't have a nifty plugin like wordpress to automate that grunge work) A tool that use to evlauate my content is PostRank.
