The place to find reports on what happend is on the wiki. A tool such as EpiCollect , which is an Android app. One thing that would facilitate this would be a more robust API system in CiviCRM – access to the data via REST or JSON, which would allow CiviCRM to talk with some of the tools out there like Mesh4X.

WordPress was born as a blogging tool, primarily, and has expanded outside of that realm, to encompass different kinds of content management use cases. They just introduced a project wiki, but again, they’ve rolled their own and it’s useless. Contrast that with Google Code’s sweet Subversion-integrated wiki. The problem with Google Code is that it’s *explicitly* for small projects.

You have to pay to use their corporate wiki software “Confluence&# , but they bundle the source code with the licence so you can customise (and improve) the software yourself. .&# The “free&# aspect of open source is definitely a draw to the neophyte; that doesn’t mean that proprietary is the only way to go afterwards.

What do these tools allow you to do? Crabgrass is written in Ruby on Rails, and has groups, messaging and wikis, among other features. It combines all the academic features of a CMS and the learning tools found in an LMS with the networking tools of a secure social network and other Web 2.0 tools (blogs, wikis, etc.).
