I highly recommend volunteering with young people, whether they are as little as a kindergartner, or as old as a college student. If you'd like to find an opportunity to work with young people, check out Dave Eggers' Once Upon a School site, which was built in response to his TED Prize wish. I find it helps keep life in perspective.

I think what makes us unique is that we are really investing in women's leadership and women's creativity in developing local solutions to some of the world's most challenging problems. I am quick to remind people in the United States that those rights were fought for. I think that is what really motivates me to do this work.
