Freely sharing and facilitating community knowledge is part of my DNA as it for many colleagues in the nonprofit technology field. There is an added benefit to learning communities. I then modeled this support on the online community — and we quickly had a village of practitioners supporting one of another.

Khan Academy, the free, nonprofit online source for educational instructional videos, is a young powerhouse in the online learning space. Khan Academy is interesting in itself as an online learning space. It's no coincidence that Beth Harris' last job was as Director of Digital Learning at MoMA.

Last week, I participated in three very intense days of project, curriculum, and online community planning for a new project, E-Mediat , a multi-stakeholder capacity building project for NGOS and Social Media in the Middle East. A true public/private partnership, the funding partners include Microsoft and craiglist Charitable Fund.

Group Collaboration with Feedback. A collaborative assessment involves learners completing a task alongside their peers and receiving feedback on their personal efforts within the group. Of the various assessment methods in this list, group collaboration with feedback is easily the least quantitative method.
