In the past year we have raised over $47,000 in an online Razoo contest and $25,000 as prize money in a Facebook contest sponsored by Chase. Less than two hours ago, Chase Community Giving made the much anticipated announcement of the lucky winner of $1 million dollars and five finalists each receiving $100,000 on its contest Fan Page. It's left some nonprofit professionals wondering whether these types of contests are a good idea. and Sdfj Dfsjlfkddjf. Change.org reported.

But the GivingTuesday spirit still continues until the end of the month with #MyGivingStory , a contest where your nonprofit organization could receive a grant up to $10,000. MyGivingStory, in its second year, is a nationwide campaign and social media storytelling contest to inspire public discussion about the reasons people give.

Rather than donating the money to nonprofits through a traditional corporate responsibility grant program, Pepsi will jump on the online contest bandwagon. Pepsi will have contests every month for 10 months beginning Jan. The groups say that until Chase made changes to the contest, they appeared to be among the top 100 vote-getters.

We love the New York Public Library’s Anti-Proms , which provide an alternative, safe space regardless of sexuality, gender identity, and any other reason for NYC teens. Or host a rib, pie, or hot dog eating contest and have your own tip jars for people to support their favorite competitors in the form of donations.
