Beyond accruing a lot friends to distribute your avatar throughout the YouTube community, it’s was never clear what the benefits of having friends were. 3) YouTube Channels no longer feature Friends and Subscribers. Not a great loss!

Use a Horizontal Avatar. LinkedIn Groups are the only community discussed in this book that uses a rectangular avatar instead of a square one. If you name your group after your nonprofit, then your horizontal logo is fine for your LinkedIn group’s avatar. It needs to be a strong avatar that makes a solid first impression.

Hashtags and their usefulness are definitely open to interpretation. Example Tweet: Nice use of Animoto by United Cerebral Palsy: [link] || #nonprofit. I use it to call people to action to benefit a nonprofit/charity: Example Tweet: #CharityTuesday :: Add a “Cause&# Twibbon to your Twitter Avatar: [link].

I could post photos on my giving page, via the Movember iPhone app, and we were definitely encouraged to use them on Twitter and everywhere else. These examples really helped get the ball rolling in early November, and I was very thankful they were there. Being a Tease Helps.
