Guest Post: Why it’s worth allowing volunteers to lead (even when it’s uncomfortable)

We educated the volunteers about community challenges, provided them with project planning and leadership development training, and then asked the volunteers to come up with solutions to those challenges. The result? In year two, we added a new workshop session, “volunteer speed dating.” And for me, that is the good stuff.
