I’ve been a huge fan of GivingTuesday since I first heard about it back in September, 2012 during a conference at Stanford. GivingTuesday is done it again with its K-12 Philanthropy Curriculum , a set of lesson plans that teachers can use to help their students participate in GivingTuesday by raising money for a local nonprofit.

In what is known as the “ braille provision ,” the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) of 2004 mandates that the teams who help write educational plans for students with disabilities presume that all blind and visually impaired children should be taught Braille unless it is determined to be inappropriate.

Why did you decide to do a crowd-funding campaign in 2012? In 2012, President Obama responded to the activism, passion, and residency of the Dreamers, by issuing Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) to protect them from deportation and provided them with temporary work visas.
