technologies to raise funds for a cause, DonorsChoose.org should be near the top of a very short list. Last year, bloggers big and small raised $270,000 to provide 65,000 students with the resources needed to learn. Long term, DonorsChoose wants raise $100 million a year for public classrooms this way. . The cool part?

Keo Savon graduated from the local high school, steadily holding #3 and #5 in her class of 65 students. She is studying chemistry, math, physics, biology, and Khmer literature at the University where she hopes to major in architecture. I was lucky enough to meet Leng Sopharath when I traveled to Cambodia in 2007.

My first fundraising effort was to send Leng Sopharath to college her first year in November 2006 took 3 weeks to raise $800. In 2007, Chris Brogan and 81 other people helped raise enough money in 24 hours for her college tuition and in a few days were able to raise enough to help support another student.

Solicitation on the streets for programs at the k-12 level to train students to use cyber tools for science. Funded a project to work with state of Michigan - requirement for high school graduation is that all students have an online learning experience. Raising up of kids s is essential to this conversation.

My last visit to Cambodia was in 2007 and I remember how frustratingly slow the wifi felt compared to high speed access I enjoyed in the US. We also got to meet Keo Savon , the second college student that our family is supporting through the Sharing Foundation’s college sponsorship program.
