Summary reporting – Create sheets that show items not completed. I’ve also used these summary reports to flag things in sheets for others that require attention not related to dates or completion status, such as if a field value is “Needs further input.” Or rows in a workspace that match certain values.

cv__First_Gift_Date__c is a Common Ground custom field but it's just a rollup summary that calculates that account's earliest (MIN) close date for closed/won opportunities. Simply create a formula field, type number, I called it "Days to Donor Conversion": cv__First_Gift_Date__c - datevalue(CreatedDate).

I wish they were as excited about rollup summaries for lookup fields. If you are anywhere in the Salesforce orbit, for the last year Salesforce has been all about Chatter. Salesforce employees and evangelists would have you believe that Chatter can directly bring about world peace.

With new goodies from Salesforce like Apex, summary fields and cross-object formulas, it’s becoming clear to me that we should consider moving away from the legacy Individual bucket account. Our database is set up based on the old nonprofit best practice of putting individual constituents/donors in a bucket “Individual&# account.
