I use a variety of tools for this analysis, including Google Analytics, Feedburner subscriber counts, and manually tracking comment to post ratios (typepad doesn't have a nifty plugin like wordpress to automate that grunge work) A tool that use to evlauate my content is PostRank. About a year ago, I decided to benchmark my blog using some tips suggested by Avinash Kaushik. My blogging platform, Typepad, does not have a way to easily and automatically measure the number of posts and words in post in a given time period. I had to compute mine manually by counting them in typepad. A time consuming pain.
