The first example of direct content is the use of Wikipedia during the 7/7 bombings in London. Millions of editors on Wikipedia and it’s rise in public use was climbing. Wikipedia was a popular resource and established as a citizen-driven information source. Direct Content. What’s so important or interesting about this?

You had to say something on the blog, or post a photo on Flickr, or organize a Meetup. Wikipedia is a community, Craigslist is a community, Moveon.org is a community, eBay for crying out loud is a community. Most of the content was (and is) user generated. I remember that it was simply not cool to just go there and look at things.

Wiki: Collective brain of humanity. He told the story of the founding of wikipedia and the meaning of the Hawaiin word - quickly, quickly. He talked about the growth of wikipedia. He also mentioned a Romanian wiki called MediaPedia.Ro. Talked about the problem of wiki spam and how easy it is to administrator.

Most users prefer to consume user generated content, by reading blog, watching videos, or browsing through photos. Wikis are a perfect example of co-creation. Open group blogs, photo pools, video collages and similar projects are also good examples of co-creation.

Extension programs use wikis, flickr, blogs, tagging, and other tools to share information and content. A blog with the comments feature enabled allows or sharing photos in flickrs allows Extension program participants to discuss plans and programs. Use the search feature on flickr to find photos that are similar to yours.
