Our group of advisors includes 20 impressive women from 8 technology companies who are sharing their skills and expertise with local women entrepreneurs help them to scale their businesses.

Last week I was got to work on a week-long service trip in Cusco, Peru as part of Wake: Women’s Alliance for Knowledge Exchange #Tech2empower program where womwn in who work in technology volunteer to share their professional skills and knowledge with women-run business owners. As I learned later, it was to make a connection.

NetSquared groups focus on topics that address their unique local tech challenges, but once a quarter, we select a common theme. We make a huge effort to disseminate our news locally via radio partnerships, and other satellite partnerships, so that the people in the communities we serve are benefiting from our news first. It was written in very scribbled Nepali, her literacy skills were incredibly rudimentary, but what she ended up writing was a piece of journalism.

Jennifer Lee, Right-Brain Business Plan: How I Have Fun, Do Good Since 2005 I’ve volunteered off and on at a local non-profit called C.E.O. I’ve coached a massage therapist from Japan and a jewelry designer from Peru. I’ve been a guest presenter during their 16-week program where the women learn English and entrepreneurial skills.

One thing I have learned about myself is that I have to adapt and shift. That means building in more structure and more discipline, and for myself, it was a lot of letting go of doing everything and knowing how to do it, you know, figuring everything out and really bringing in people who bring that different set of skills.
