This is all set to happen at this week's New Organizing Institute (NOI)'s RootsCamp National 2012 unconference (Nov 30th and Dec 1st, here in D.C.) -- a mecca of sorts for the organizer faithful. The sessions, although seemingly organized on the fly in the unconference style, were very thoughtful and informative.

So, I wonder what collaborative thinking through our fingers might look like when it comes to capturing and sharing notes from conferences, dialogs, meetings or informal gatherings. This model can also be scaled to an entire blog community platform. Take for example, the netsquared conference.

Conference , especially the “ unconference sessions “ in Washington, DC on Friday. For example, they immediately start updating their Facebook page letting people know what information is available and they are there. I participated in two unconference sessions. I don’t often get a chance to listen and learn.

Each summer, the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History hosts MuseumCamp , a professional development experience that is part retreat, part unconference, part adult summer camp. On 8.16.08, the Museum of Art and History (Santa Cruz, CA) hosted FreelanceCamp, a free unconference that brought 150 designers and techies from the south bay area together to talk shop. I was at the last of these three events--the unconference in Santa Cruz. Heck, it doesn't even attract the museum exhibit designers.

They are in the process of building and growing a 'problem solving' network by convening thoughtful people inside and outside of EDF to review their thinking and then comment, critique, and contribute new information so they can improve their impact. The network grows out of their ground-breaking work in partnering with businesses.
